I got the recipe over at "Tasty Kitchen" and Pioneer Woman
Murphy's Hot Hamburger-
5 large potatoes
1 Tablespoon oil
1 lb ground beef
1 Tablespoon minced garlic
1 Tablespoon onion powder
1 teaspoon seasoned salt- I actually used "Spade L Ranch Beef Marinade and Seasoning" which is this really yummy seasoning I got at our local Albertsons at the butcher.
5 Tablespoons flour
2 (14oz) cans beef broth
salt and pepper
Preheat oven to 425. Slice potatoes into wedge fries. Toss fries with a little bit of oil and spread out on a baking sheet. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake for about 45 minutes, until golden, turning once about half way through.
In a bowl, mix hamburger, garlic, onion powder, seasoned salt, and some salt and pepper. Form into 4 patties. Brown both sides until done, in a large skillet over medium heat.
Remove patties to a plate, reserving grease in pan. Sprinkle the flour into the pan a little at a time, whisking as you add. When the grease absorbs the flour and gets bubbly and thick, add in the broth. Bring down to a simmer and let the gravy thicken. Add lots of ground pepper.
To serve: Place a handful of fries on a plate, top with a patty, and cover with a good amount of the gravy.
